Phewwwww. A bullet raced past my ear.
It was 16th April 1915. Boom went a Ottoman canon, “Return fire” Fire I bellowed.
Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang went or guns. When would the great war finish Boom went another canon that was the turkeys. Suddenly my best mate went down with a bit of shrapnel in his hip. Boom went another cannon.
Suddenly I was lying on the beach with my mate next to me. Me, my mate survived out of luck and care I chuckled to myself as I struggled up hill to the moral.
We still had to fight.
